This is the scene of my living room in my childhood home. One night, I woke up after hearing a deafening sound, and saw that our entire living room ceiling had fallen onto the floor. We soon decided to move, which led to This was our final straw in deciding to move, which caused many complex feelings for me: loss, grief, insecurity. Because of all of this, I have never forgotten that scene. Later, I realized that recreating the chaos and destruction that occurred could be really interesting, and I felt as though I healed from this event by turning it into a piece of art. I feel as though the cardboard and ripped foam core really communicate the texture of the plaster and wood at the scene. This piece relates to my love of miniature, and ended up becoming a common theme in every work I made for AP 3D Art.
