To me, moths have always been a motif of change and growth, as moths morph into entirely different creatures throughout their existence. Because of this and my overall admiration for their beauty, I often depict moths in my artwork. This painting showcases layers upon layers of feathery brush strokes, aimed to display the majestic fur of their wings. I am inspired by nature in much of my artwork, and I intend to replicate its beauty as best as possible. In 2025, this piece won the ArtsConnection art competition for the theme Simplicity in Complexity, as well as the Gold Key from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
