Moth Textile Piece

This textile piece uses the motif of moths again, this time with two of them. The smaller moth is meant to represent a younger version of myself looking at my current self: the flourishing moth in the center. This was made during the RISD Pre-college program as well, in the Textiles Arts course. I dyed the warp thread myself and I made the moths from embroidered thread and needle-felting. I feel as though the rich tones of gold and fuschia in the background elucidate the moths themselves, as if they are resting upon the piece. Once again, this tapestry illustrates my love of nature, texture, and my fascination with moths.
