Woven yarn, beads, sewing thread

This is another textile piece that I made at the Pre-college program, where the prompt was to make a “weave diary.” I took much inspiration from the nature surrounding the campus and was able to exercise my passion for embroidery and beadwork. Here, in my first attempt at weaving, I surprised myself with a natural understanding of the motions of a loom—pressing on the pedals and gliding the bobbin back and forth—and quickly got into the rhythm of weaving. Also, to incorporate an element of symmetry in this piece, I used similar colors of yarn at the ends of the weave so that it looks like a completed pattern.
